50 Newton Street, Manchester
50 Newton Street, Manchester
A former warehouse executed with considerable panache and full of attractive details. A giant arcade reaching through three floors with terracotta trim, ornate windows, and an extravagant segmental pediment at the top. Built 1907 by C. Clegg & Son. Grade II listed.
The listing records that it was built for a hat manufacturer, something which is no doubt remembered in the name of the hostel currently occupying the building, Hatters.
