The new Ashton by-pass
The new Ashton by-pass
This is the western end of the new road on the day it was officially opened. As is clear, there is still some work to be done, but it was opened for eastbound traffic while westbound traffic is still using the old Wellington Road in the foreground for the time being. The forecourt of the railway station is much improved. The view is from the Council Offices.
