taken 7 years ago, near to Upper Upham, Wiltshire, Great Britain

Byway, Upper Upham
Byway, Upper Upham
After a long climb up the downs from New Barn, and past the Giant's Grave, the open vistas come to an end with this gate. The byway continues along to the minor road in Upper Upham. To the left of it is a paddock in which a single horse grazed, while to the right is a stand of managed trees. In the distance, directly in line with the end of the track, tantalising glimpses of Upper Upham House can just be seen.
