Jetties at Keills
Jetties at Keills
The sloping jetty or slipway in the foreground was built by Thomas Telford some two hundred years ago. Its design facilitated the import to the mainland of cattle from Jura, Colonsay and Islay, which had been shipped from Lagg on Jura. The jetty in the background, which is of standard design, is deteriorating badly, as other images show.
