Under the pier
A view of the ornate but highly functional structures supporting the new building above. The pier was completed in 1904, overseen by engineer P. Munroe, and used 600 iron piles to keep the platform above sea level. Following the original theatre's fiery demise in 1930, the second building suffered the same fate in 2008. Despite this, the structure below the decking has survived well.
