Bogside, Irvine
Looking across the central area of the former racecourse, towards Arran. Bogside is believed to be the home of the Scottish Grand National, which was first run here in April 1866. The race moved to Ayr after the closure of Bogside in 1965. The old site has become a useful area for bird life.
