Ouse Fen
Looking over the conveyor belt towards phase three. The conveyor belt is taking sand and gravel from the currently active area of quarry TL3874 : Ouse Fen sand and gravel extraction. Once extraction is completed Hanson Aggregates landscape the area, with clay and topsoil stripped before extraction, and plant it with reeds. It is then given to the RSPB for further management (encouraging reed growth, discouraging willow growth in the reeds). Access routes are gradually being put in, this was taken during a volunteer work party from an area without general access.
