The Black Shiver face of Ingleborough
The Black Shiver face of Ingleborough
The steepest face of the mountain catches the late afternoon sun rising above the limestone plateau of Raven Scar. A light covering of snow picks out the harder bands of sandstone, limestone and millstone grit. The big cairn LinkExternal link that sits above the scars is just visible. This is a zoom shot from Twisleton Scars across Chapel-le-Dale.
