The Little Orme
The Little Orme
Limestone was quarried here from about 1889 and mostly shipped to Scotland for use in blast furnaces. It was later used in the manufacture of Porland Cement because of its high calcium carbonate content. The quarry closed in 1931 and now Little Orme provides a lovely headland to wander over.
