Sculpture, Edgeware Road
The six-metre high structure in Edgeware Road, near the junction with Regent Street was one of two installed in 2011 at a cost of 38,000 as part of the town centre regeneration scheme from Forward Swindon, and was paid for by a grant from central government. The structure was created by Arup and Nicholas Pearson Associates, as part of the Public Realm Renewal project for Regent Street. It is studded with an array of LED lights, programmed with a changing colour sequence, which is linked to aesthetic lighting in the paving in the town centre. The other sculpture is in College Street. In the background is the 19th century brickwork of W. W. Hunter's House Furnishing shop. LinkExternal link
