Wintry Whitmoor Common
Icy open heathland north of Guildford. Till WW2 this was common grazing land (cattle), wood and gorse was collected for fuel, bracken collected for animal bedding. During WW2, tanks were tested on this land. Today it is an SSSI and excellent walking country.
