Church tower, Culmstock
Church tower, Culmstock
The tower of ST1013 : All Saints church, Culmstock sports a yew tree of some size against the side of the stair-turret. The yew has reputedly been growing there since at least 1750, and possibly earlier; it has inspired poetry - see LinkExternal link . More conventionally the tower has gargoyles, and also a weather vane at each corner. LinkExternal link .
