SJ9585 : The Bulls Head

taken 7 years ago, near to High Lane, Stockport, Great Britain

The Bulls Head
The Bulls Head
The Bulls (Bull's) Head Hotel on Buxton Road (A6) at High Lane.

The old sign over the doorway uses the possessive apostrophe (ie Bull's - the apostrophe indicating that the head in question refers to the single bull shown on the inn sign), whilst the more modern sign on the side of the pub (ie Bulls) follows the current practice of only using apostrophes where they are necessary to clarify meaning.
