Palmers Brewers and Brewery
Palmers, an excellent example of local brewers, have been brewing beer in Bridport since 1794 and are still on the original site. Grade II listed. LinkExternal link
The brewery supplies beers all over Dorset and into Devon. It owns several tied houses and these are distinguishable by their distinctive blue signs.
White Horse pubs
The sign of the House of Hanover, adopted by many 18th Century inns to demonstrate loyalty to the new Royal dynasty. A white horse is also the emblem of the County of Kent. The name can also refer to the chalk horses carved into hillsides.
