Bury Market
Bury Market
Bury open-air market has operated since 1444. In its publicity, the market refers to itself as 'World Famous'. It is operates on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and attracts large numbers of visitors, many of whom travel on coaches from miles around.

The roofline of the fish and meat market hall, constructed in the 1990s on the site of the former National Westminster Bank, can be seen above the stalls in this photograph.

The market is particularly famed for its black pudding stalls (none of which are actually in this photograph).
