Bursledon Windmill
Bursledon Windmill
Built in 1813-14 on the site of a previous post-mill. This Grade II* listed building is an example of an early tower mill. There are 5 storeys and the main structure is a circular tapering brick tower. The interior was restored between 1977-91 and contains a full set of timber machinery. Because of shielding to the west (houses) and east (trees) the mill now only operates when winds blow from the north or south.
