Southbound M42 near Coleshill
Southbound M42 near Coleshill
Although this looks like a conventional motorway, all the road in view is the southbound M42, moved to a new alignment concurrent with construction of the M6 (Toll) which uses the original M42 alignment. On the left is the two-lane slip road from southbound M6 which joins the three lanes of southbound M42 beyond the B4114 bridge. The southbound M6 (Toll) and combined northbound M6 (Toll)/M42 carriageways are just west (right) of the bridge, separated only by the low embankment seen on the right.
