The Leper Chapel of St Mary Magdalene - east end
This picture gives little idea that this small 12th-century chapel "stands desperately alone below the road and the railway approach", as Nikolaus Pevsner wrote in 1954. (Barnwell Junction station has since closed, but its approach road remains.) The chancel is of limestone, the nave flint-walled.
