73-79 King Street, Manchester
Built as Norwich Union House. According to Manchester Metropolitan University's Visual Resources it was designed by T.P. Bennett & Son, 1959-60. In 2004-05, its clean lines were swept away in a much feted remodelling which also added two floors. As is de rigueur these days, it has also been given a pompous new name: the Pinnacle.
The ground floor is occupied by a branch of soulless pub chain, All Bar One.
