On the 22nd July 1954 two aircraft collided with and crashed into Kinder Scout in the Peak District.

They were on a interception exercise called 'Dividend' during the course of this exercise six aircraft were lost.

Wreckage covers both the top of Kinder Scout and Black Ashop Moor ,500 feet below , and spans an area over a half mile in distance .

Both the pilots from 66 Squadron ,flying out of RAF Linton-on- Ouse were killed . They were
