Bridge over Auckland Walk
Bridge over Auckland Walk
The Auckland Walk is one of a number of paths in this part of County Durham using an old railway track bed as a footpath and cycleway. The bridge in view is curious in that it's much more broad than appears necessary for any obvious purpose, seeming more like a short tunnel than a bridge, yet the land above it would hardly have needed tunnelling - much easier to create a shallow cutting.
