The source of the Afon Ystwyth
The source of the Afon Ystwyth
This distinctive pool is as good a choice as any for the source of the Afon Ystwyth, which rises in the vast bog of the Gors Lwyd. The bog lies on a watershed; the Ystwyth drains west to Cardigan Bay, while on the other side of the bog the Elan drains east to join the Wye, on its way to the Bristol Channel.
