Moorland west of Llyn Egnant
Moorland west of Llyn Egnant
This picture shows the glacial origins of this landscape. Llyn Egnant and the other Teifi pools have filled up south-south-westerly grooves left in the bedrock by glaciation drifting out into the coastal plain. Rocky ridges and outcrops running in the same direction separate shallow boggy valleys. This one in particular feeds Llyn y Gorlan, behind the camera. Some of the lakes, like Llyn Egnant visible here, have been dammed to increase their storage capacity.
