Bridge, Water Street, Manchester
Carrying the railway over the River Irwell. On the left is a viaduct of 1845-49, built for the Manchester South Junction and Altrincham Railway Company. Grade II listed.
The elegant segmental-arched bridge on the right was built by George Stephenson as part of the development of the Liverpool-Manchester railway, 1830. It now runs only into the Museum of Science and Industry. Grade I listed.
