Illuminated art installation NZ2563 : Sculpture echoing High Level bridge arches and the tanks of Bretts Oil NZ2563 : Brett Oil Works situated on Gateshead's Pipewellgate, just upstream of the High Level Bridge. Bretts Oil & Grease Co. was founded in 1887 on the site of Joseph Price's Glassworks. It was initially a major supplier of oil for lighting and later supplied a range of lubricants for the shipbuilding, steel making and coal mining industries. The standing buildings date from 1927.
