Three R's Transport
From the top of the earthworks, first the Railway, York to Scarborough. Then the River Derwent a navigable river from ancient times to the 20th Century. Beyond, the road running toward Westow around Laysike Wood. The earthworks were excavated 1953/54, a ditch from Roman times, coins etc. The main a 12th century Medieval Fortified Hall.
