Motorway Junction at Simister Island
Simister Island is the very busy junction between the M60/M62 and M66 motorways. It is junction 18 of the M60 (Manchester Outer Ring Road) and M62 (Main east west link from Liverpool to Hull) and junction 4 of the M66.
This view is taken from Simister Lane. The highest roadway (with the tanker) is the M62, towards Yorkshire, having changed from clockwise M60. Below is the roundabout at the interchange with the slip road to the anticlockwise M60. The M66 passes under the junction and can just be seen through the bridge.
