Former Drill Hall, Mount Pleasant, Bilston
My companions and I were puzzled as to the original function of this building - possibly a dance hall or an early cinema, but the royal coat of arms on the facade would have been unlikely in either case. Research afterwards revealed that it was built in 1901 as a Drill Hall for the 6th Staffordshire Regiment of the Territorial Army, remaining in use as such until 1936. It is now a music venue specialising in R 'n B. Locally listed.
