Hesket Hall is a square house with four gabled staircase wings, built for Sir Wilfrid Lawson in the 17C. The centre has a pyramid roof with a big central chimney. Over the main doorway is a horizontally placed oval window with a square hood-mould, and some of the windows have mullions and transoms.
