This shot was taken in the spring of 1965, before the flats had been completed and only months before the North West Radial route was constructed across this part of the Town Moor, with Cow Hill to the right.

The last remaining building of the isolation hospital had not long been demolished, the only reminder of the site ever having been there being these few trees. Today those trees are more substantial and you might not see the flats across the embanked spoil from the road works that was dumped on Cow Hill but now completely part of the landscape.

On the horizon to the left is a white hint of the still to be completed Newcastle Civic Centre
