The Church of St James the Great, at Dursley, is a Grade I listed building dating from the fourteenth century (LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings). The church was extensively restored and altered in 1867 and, during the twentieth century, many of the Victorian fittings were removed to make the church more suited to modern liturgy.
