Aqueduct feeding Smiddy Shaw Reservoir
The substantial aqueduct carries water to the Smiddy Shaw Reservoir from the Hisehope Reservoir. At this location there's an overflow point where excess water would run over the lip of the channel and cascade down into a tributary of Hisehope Burn. Part of the dam of Smiddy Shaw Reservoir can be seen left of the distant trees.
