Barns are surprisingly few and far between in this area compared to somewhere like Swaledale where every tiny pasture has its associated field barn Link This one provided us with welcome shelter from the cold west wind while we had a break. In the distance, Cross Fell looks quite cross as it broods under a cloud cap (which it did most of the day).
