Heart of Wales line at Pantyffynnon
Heart of Wales line at Pantyffynnon
Here, the north bound Heart of Wales line train can be seen stopping just short of the station to meet with the signal man. This isn't a social occasion - a physical token is passed to the driver to allow passage between here and Llandeilo, where the line is single track and has no passing places.

The signal box controls the entire Heart of Wales line from Llandilo Junction near Llanelli to Craven Arms near Shrewsbury. The junction name takes on the old spelling for Llandeilo.
