SJ3490 : Halifax House, Brunswick Street, Liverpool

taken 13 years ago, near to Seacombe, Wirral, England

Halifax House, Brunswick Street, Liverpool
Halifax House, Brunswick Street, Liverpool
Palazzo-style with rounded corners and Corinthian aedicules framing the first-floor windows. As Pevsner remarks, "surprisingly correct and restrained for its date", c1870. Built for the Union Bank, probably by John Cunningham. Grade II listed.
In common with many former banks, it is now home to a restaurant/bar, in this case the imaginatively called The Restaurant Bar and Grill.
