Trig Point Wolfhole Crag - Bowland Fells
Trig Point Wolfhole Crag - Bowland Fells
The trig point here at the wild remote fell of Wolfhole Crag is rather weather worn at the base. I hope no one carts it off on their shoulder (a barrow would sink!) even if these concrete pillars are virtually redundant now regards new technical pin pointy ways of sorting things. On the left horizon is part of Whernside fell and to the right of the trig, old Ingleborough the Lion Sphinx that guards this part of the western entrance to the Yorkshire Dales. The strange shaped millstone grit rock here on the right, I have previously and affectionately - from a different angle - referred to it as 'Nellie' the petrified Elephant! But on this photo it could be quite easily be regarded as Antony the Anteater, affectionately of course !
