Grey Mare and Foal - Ward's Stone - Bowland
The millstone grit rock seen here are known as Grey Mare and Foal, you would not think so to look at them! But I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder; I have yet to meet one of these beholders! Anyway these solid equine rocks must be sleeping now, 'tis night. I've never known horses to look like this, stood up under the spell of the Sandman! Miles off top left can be seen the majestic mountain of Ingleborough settling down for the night. But same cannot be said for the intrepid explorer of these wild fells!
