Remains of the day
The remains of wooden structures can be clearly visible at low tide on Mersehead Sands. Jetties would have been built along the shoreline to use when loading and unloading supplies, now long gone and just the rotting timber to see.
RSPB Mersehead “Wildfowl and Wader Wander” 2012

On the 17th March 2012 the RSPB, supported by the Scottish Government, National Science and Engineering Week and the British Science Association arranged a 5km sponsored walk around RSPB Mersehead, including areas of the reserve not normally open to the public. Over 50 adults, children and dogs attended the event raising over £2000 to go towards Mersehead and the continuing conservation work of the RSPB.
