Part of a long fence at Merthyr Mawr Warren which was put up in the year prior to photography is seen in the right half of the picture. The fence is probably over a kilometre long and for a good deal of its length runs close to and parallel to one of the main west-east paths at Merthyr Mawr Warren. A number of stiles have been erected, enabling passage across the fence.
