Aqueduct over the River Hodder - Bowland Forest
Aqueduct over the River Hodder - Bowland Forest
Large water pipes are carried over this handsome aqueduct bridge which spans the River Hodder. At the top right of the photo is the prominent limestone outcrop known as 'Knot' or 'Sugar Loaf'. Long ago the limestone was quarried here and at the base of the 'Sugar Loaf' is an old lime kiln. On the skyline is Burn Fell.
