Jay's Grave
Jay's Grave
Jay's Grave in the early evening sun. The story of this poor farm girl who found herself pregnant in an age less forgiving, hanged herself and was buried at this cross road so her ghost would not be able to come back and haunt the living is well known. It's an irony that someone who was nothing in her life should become such an integral part of Dartmoor legend in her death. This is one of those places on the moor that keeps drawing you back.
