The Mill in Tolkien Country - Hall Green, Birmingham
Sarehole Mill is 200 years old and is one of two remaining watermills in Birmingham. There has been a mill on this site for over 450 years and it has had a variety of uses over time. J R R Tolkien spent his childhood in this area and there is an annual Tolkien Weekend held in the large field behind the Mill. There is a Tolkien Trail and the site is the starting point for walks to the nearby Moseley Bog. Time photo taken 2.34 pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
