Mature Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) in background, species-rich grassland in foreground. Cottage is granite walls, slate and red corrugated iron roof. Renovated probably 1906. Original building >250years old. "Torniscar" is anglicised form of Gaelic "Tor an Iasgair" - "Hill of the fishing bird"
