Millennium Square, Sheffield
Millennium Square, Sheffield
Sheffield's Millennium Square (which is actually triangular in shape) is part of the re-development of the city centre undertaken at the end of the twentieth century. To the left is the Winter Gardens, to the right Piccolino’s restaurant and straight ahead is the Sheffield Novotel hotel.

The square contains a piece of public artwork called "Rain". The sculpture features nine large Sheffield stainless steel spheres varying in sizes up to 2m in diameter, which were intended to suggest drops of rain that have just landed on the surface of the square (LinkExternal link - Sheffield City Council).
