St. Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh
St. Patrick's Cathedral (Roman Catholic) in Armagh as viewed from near the observatory. The foundation stone was laid on St. Patrick's Day 1840 but the building was not completed until 1904 (consecration was on 24th July of that year). The original architect was a Thomas J. Duff of Newry; as he died during the lengthy construction, the famous Irish neo-Gothic architect J.J. McCarthy was instructed to finish the building. See LinkExternal link for further reading.
