Pinewood on old peat-hag, Culstank Moss
Peat was dug from the foreground area, which is therefore lower than the surrounding land. The edge of the peat-hag can be seen in front and to the right of the large Scots pine in the centre of the picture. Pine trees are now growing the old peat-hags, though slowly because of wet conditions.
