A crane and barge at this pontoon J3371 : Pontoon, River Lagan, Belfast beside the Governor’s Bridge. According to River notice no 08/12 “Notice is hereby given a contractor will be carrying out repairs to the riverbank’s stone pitched revetments between March and June. The repairs will concentrate on areas immediately upstream of McConnell Lock; upstream and downstream of Governor’s Bridge (County Down Bank) and upstream of Governor’s pontoon (County Antrim Bank). This repair work is essential to ensure that the banks are protected from erosion and the aesthetic quality of the river corridor maintained. To enable the contractor to carry out the work efficiently it will be necessary to lower the river below the normal minimum impoundment level on occasions.” Continue to J3371 : Crane and barge, Stranmillis, Belfast (2).
