Lytham Green, Windmill and Old Lifeboat House
The windmill was built in 1805 on what is now Lytham Green. It was worked until 1919 when a fire destroyed most of the machinery. It has been restored several times. One of the four sails was destroyed in storm on October 16th 2011. A new sail is due to be fitted in May 2012. To the left is the Old Lifeboat House; the Grade II listed building, which closed in 2004 was for many years a museum, telling the story of Lytham lifeboats from 1851 to the present day.
