Torridonian Sandstone
Torridonian Sandstone
Much-eroded outcrops of sandstone on the south shore of Loch Scresort. The sloping ridges on the face of the overhanging section right of centre are cross-bedding, which tells geologists that the rock was laid down by currents running left to right. Compare with NM4099 : Cross-bedding in Torridonian Sandstone.
