Picrite Dyke
Picrite Dyke
Picrite is a coarse-grained igneous rock with a high proportion of olivine and a high level of magnesium, but very little quartz. It is very dense and quite a small piece feels very heavy. Note the expanse of mud flats now that the tide is out.
